Sri Lankan Australians Inc. is a consortium of associations and individuals of Sri Lankan origin residing in Australia who unite to advocate and lobby for materials and funds for critical causes that impact the lives of people in Australia, Sri Lanka and any other part of the world.

We have done this on separate occasions with great success. Each initiative brought us together as a group, sometimes under another name. As the group evolved, we created a permanent entity, Sri Lankan Australian Inc., a broad alliance of groups and individuals held together by a core committee.

Our Purpose

Sri Lankan Australians Inc. began with a simple objective: to bridge all Sri Lankan communities with respect and dignity to act collectively for a common cause. Thus, Sri Lankan Australians Inc. represents the united efforts of the Sinhala, Tamil, Burgher, and Sri Lankan Muslim communities of Australia to make a difference to the lives around us.

We have mobilized funds and resources for critical use in the past. We have raised funds for essential items such as drugs, medical equipment and supplies for humanitarian causes. Our pragmatic and transparent operations ensure that every dollar is accountable and reaches its destination to facilitate positive change.

Our Vision

To be an organisation capable of building a future for those in need and to empower people to live in harmony with each other and nature.

Our Mission

To provide hope and assistance to those in need by bringing together individuals and entities who can assist through advocacy, awareness raising, and fund-raising to provide and improve opportunities, access, and resources to education, health and other survival needs.

Our Objectives

  • To provide and promote nation-wide opportunities and events for social and cultural contact within the wider community, thus generating a better understanding about the pluralistic nature of Sri Lankan culture.
  • To unite and promote mutual understanding between Australians, people of Sri Lankan origin in Australia, and others in Australia with links to Sri Lanka.
  • To seek the support of as many people as possible who would be willing to subscribe to the objectives described above.
